On 20-09-2011 the vessel was boarded by 6 Somali pirates, 300 nm SE off Mombassa, Kenya. Vessels crew went into ships citadel to hide for the pirates. The frustrated pirates set ships accomodation on fire to get crew out of the citadel. After distress call the crew was rescued by millitary forces. Vessel was towed to Mombassa (Kenya) by tugs and declared total loss.
On 14 March 2012 the ship arrived under tow at Alang (India) to be broken
